Letter from the Commanding Officer:

Cadets,

Former cadets Cameron Thornberry and Brook Stevens are now Naval Midshipmen!

The photo above shows both of them "just after being sworn into the Navy".

Welcome aboard to our newest cadets - Recruits Maria Burke and Ciara Williams.

It's been a busy summer!  12 cadets attended Recruit "boot camp" and came back with some great stories.  Several other cadets also had a blast at 16 advanced trainings.

In August we learned about gun safety and armed watch procedures. We also went to the gun range in Rancho Murieta to qualify for ribbons.  Two cadets scored high enough for Expert and six others shot at the SharpShooter level.  Twelve other cadets did well enough to earn the Marksman Ribbon.  You all practiced good safety and acted very maturely.  Great job!

As you go back to school - remember to share your summer experiences with your classmates.

See if ANY of them can compare with yours!

(But when you get done smiling - remember to invite them to our next drill.)

Now it's time to prepare for Pass-in-Review competition!

Practice your knots, study your academics and give a close look at that uniform

so we ALL look our best!

Respectfully,

Curtis Gant

What Sacramento Division Does Every Year ...

In May we participated in the American Cancer Society "Relay for Life" The cadets camped out at Sutter Middle School in Folsom, CA and raised money for cancer research by taking turns walking for 24-hours.

In May we placed crosses and flags on Veteran's Graves at Sierra Hills Memorial Park and marched in the Watt Avenue Memorial Day Parade.
In March we attended the Capitol City Airshow and saw the Navy Blue Angels perform! @ Mather AFB
These are the A-10 Thunderbolt's pyrotechnics as the plane dropped simulated bombs at last year's Capitol Air Show. Cadets also got to go behind the lines with the Blue Angel pilots for a little extra security. Will you be there this year?
In October we attend the Navy's Fleet Week in San Francisco for a Blue Angel performance and a tour of numerous naval vessels.
